Residence permit (karta pobytu)
Definition
A document confirming a foreigner's right to stay in Poland.
What it means in practice
For people from outside the EU, a residence permit (alongside a passport) can be a document accepted in onboarding and proof of legal stay and address.
Why it affects your choice
Which documents a product accepts decides whether you can open it. EU citizens usually use an EU ID/passport; people from outside the EU use a passport and a residence permit.
