How to receive your salary in Poland

To receive a salary in Poland you usually need an account that can accept a Polish transfer — most often with a Polish IBAN.

Definition

How an employer pays your salary — usually by transfer to your account.

How it works in practice

You give your employer your account number. A Polish IBAN (starting with "PL") is usually expected; some employers or systems may not accept a foreign IBAN. Opening an account may require a PESEL or accepted documents (for example a residence permit).

Why it affects your choice

Choose a product that gives a Polish IBAN and accepts your documents. Whether a product gives a Polish IBAN — check in the comparison and with the provider.

Watch out

Confirm with your employer which account number they accept, and with the provider whether you can open the account. What matters is that you live here, not your citizenship (resident vs citizen) — but the provider decides your specific eligibility.
